Mortgage Rates dropped 15 basis points this week, averaging 5.1% on a 30-yr fixed owner-occupied loan according to the Freddie Mac weekly survey of mortgage lenders. The above rate costs on average 8/10ths of a point, so the par rate (no cost) would be higher. Below is the last 50 years average on mortgage rates to put things in perspective.

Inventory Continued Climbing in April New listings outpaced sales in March and again in April, trending upward earlier than usual. Contract signings are also trending upward, so no clear signs of slowing with just over a 2-week supply of homes for sale.
