REO = Real Estate Opportunity.
A foreclosed home is called REO (Real Estate Owned) because lenders are in business to loan money, not own homes. No institution is safe- from local bank to national lender; Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD or VA. All have high inventories of REO with more on the way and are looking to unload the homes quickly and as-is. This translates to substantial discounts for home buyers and investors.

Repos come in all shapes and sizes. The selection of foreclosures in the Boise area today includes condos, townhouses, duplexes, homes with acreage, horse properties, view homes, golf course homes, waterfront homes, many luxury homes at a fraction of past values, even million dollar executive homes in exclusive subs. Also bank-owned lots and multi-family income properties.
