Mortgage Rates Continue Upward  June 27th, 2008 - According to Freddie Mac, the average 30-year fixed mortgage rose to 6.45 percent this week, up from 6.42 percent the previous week. Source: Wall Street Journal

Invest In Idaho Lacking confidence in the Boise home market? Here are my best reasons for optimism; the essence of investing:
1) Buyer's Market with slow sales and relatively high inventories means less competition and more bargaining power for you.
2) Low Prices. Compare the 1st qtr of 2008 Median Existing Home price in Ada County of $199,900 with the national median for the same period of $196,300. More importantly, Ada's median was 34% below the median in the West of $296,300. In Canyon County, the 1st quarter of 2008 median existing home price of $140,000 is an eye-opening 29% below the national median and an eye-popping 53% below the West.
3) Idaho's crime rate is the lowest in the West according to the FBI.
4) The overall tax burden per capita is the 2nd lowest in the West, according to Idaho Housing & Finance.
5) Idaho's cost of living is the 2nd lowest of the eleven western states, according to the Idaho Division of Tourism Development.
6) Idaho ranks 7th in the nation and 1st in the western states with a homeownership rate of 75.1%, according to the Census Bureau.
7) Strong economy. Idaho's unemployment rate is one of the lowest in the nation.
8) Idaho's cost of doing business is 5th lowest in the US, according to the Commerce Dept.
